چکیده

We are working toward actualizing a real-time 3D modeling system. It uses a sensor network that distributes many 1 mm-class sensor nodes in plastic clay. The distributed sensors sense distances between them, and the sensor network collects the distance information for recognizing object shape by calculating relative positions of nodes based on the collected node-to-node distances. This paper proposes a distance estimation method based on capacitive coupling between sensor nodes for the 3D modeling system. An electrical signal is transmitted through a closed loop composed of node-to-node capacitive coupling, and the signal attenuation is used for the distance estimation. We investigate gain and directivity of the signal transmission with electric field and circuit simulation to explore appropriate electrode designs for the proposed method and evaluate the feasibility of the node localization with the proposed distance estimation method.

Simulation and Modeling of a High Sensitivity Micro-electro-mechanical Systems Capacitive Pressure Sensor with Small Size and Clamped Square Diaphragm

This paper proposes a Micro-electro-mechanical (MEMS) capacitive pressure sensor that relies on the movable electrode displaced like a flat plate equal to the maximum center deflection of diaphragm. The diaphragm, movable electrode and mechanical coupling are made of polysilicon, gold and Si3N4, respectively. The fixed electrode is gold and the substrate is Pyrex glass. This proposed method inc...

A multi-hop PSO based localization algorithm for wireless sensor networks

A sensor network consists of a large number of sensor nodes that are distributed in a large geographic environment to collect data. Localization is one of the key issues in wireless sensor network researches because it is important to determine the location of an event. On the other side, finding the location of a wireless sensor node by the Global Positioning System (GPS) is not appropriate du...

Fuzzy Clustering Based Routing in Wireless Body Area Networks to Increase the Life of Sensor Nodes

Body area networks is one of the types of wireless area networks which has been created to optimize utilizing hospital resources and for earlier diagnosis of medical symptoms, and ultimately to reduce the cost of medical care. This network like most of the wireless networks is without infrastructure and the embedded sensor nodes in the body have limited energy. Hence, the early power completion...
